Drake Sprite: The Spark Tv advert analysis

Drake Sprite Advert Analysis

Persuasive methods;

The first persuasive is Experts, the 'sprite drink' have used Drake as an representation of the infamous fizzy drink, it shows drake drinking the drink and being motivated to start new music, this attracts the audience's eye as Drake is a well known worldwide artist, and therefore this helps promote the product more and gain more attraction as the audience would be interested in purchasing the drink as Drake showed in the advert that it is a refreshing drink and is his favourite which helps the audience (who see drake as their idol) be more attracted as the actions and what 'idols' drink, wear and do, people love to repeat it so they can be like them. In terms of mise en scene Drake is in the studio, and this shows the audience that he is a famous musician, he uses a mic but before he starts the rap, he picks up the product which is a sprite drink, then continues to rap into the mic.

Cinematography - Shot types.

The different type of shot types that are used are wide shots, close ups such as macro as they zoomed into drakes body once he drank the sprite, and then zoomed right into his body. The reason why they done the close ups is that the audience can have a clear view on the drink and the brand and also make the audience see how drake enjoys the drink as he closes his eyes and smiles when drinking the sprite.

Editing

In terms of editing, once drake drinks the sprite his body turns into a robot, and then its zoomed into his body where they have used illustration such as speakers (as he is a musician) to imply that music runs in his body, and the drink rejuvenates his sound system in his body so he can be motivated again. There is slow motion when the drink is going around his system, showing the detail of the drink and the speakers which then stops and comes back into reality.

Sound

In terms of sound, the sound from his headphones fades once he takes it off, and then he stops the music to get his thoughts and motivation together, and then drake opens the drink and the sound is emphasised with the turning of the lid as it makes a 'fizz' sound. Once he drinks the sprite he turns into a robot and this sound is more louder than usual as when his body changes into a robot his body parts are lifted and makes a 'fizz' sound just like the opening of a sprite which is a personification. The sound in the background then dims sound when he turns back into a human, it then gives a stiff silence before he starts to rap and the music drops and gets louder, which later is then cut off with the picture of the product, i.e sprite at the end of the advert.
