Black backdrop / white backdrop it doesn’t really matter but what does is the frame which is the soft box.

Always check your setting
To make it effective, turn the light up to 6. If it is too much, you work from number 6 down.
To create a black & white effect with some colours

                                                            Slight hint of colour
You have to know where the light is going
